Jack Powers Home-RV Fire
Donation protected
My name is Jack Powers, I spent 33 years in the federal prison system, 22 of them in solitary confinement. A portion of my story was showcased in the short film 'Tuesday Afternoon' which screened on the New York Times (https://vimeo.com/743959569).
I was released in the spring of 2021 and later that year moved to California to start a new life with my wife, Jane. Since then we’ve been living fulltime in a RV near Mountain View. We loved this RV, which was our home and housed countless precious items including letters and photos of deceased loved-ones.
This week a freak fire caught within our home, totally engulfing it and destroying everything within. The RV was our whole life. We're now trying to pickup the pieces. Any contributions are greatly appreciated.
P. S. We are so very appreciative for those who have granted us a grubstake. It touches our hearts, and makes us realize that there are truly good hearted people in this world. Again, I would like to thank each individual who has helped us during this critical time.
