Jack Russell Rescue

As some of you may know, Jack Russell Rescue holds a very special place in my heart, having provided me with one of my four legged friends, Wally.
Wally is a gorgeous boy, who unfortunately fell into the wrong hands. At the start of his life he was dumped in a park, the pound caught him and tried to re-home him and eventually he ended up on death row at RSPCA - that's where Jill, founder of JRR, stepped in just in time. Wally is the love of my life and I wouldn't have him without Jill.

Thousands of Jack Russells are surrendered every year, people mistaking them for small 'lap' dogs and then not bothered to commit to their training or temperament - sure it's their loss but it's the little Jacks that suffer. Jill has been rescuing these special fur babies for over 30 years, but her dedication doesn't stop there. Jill is unrelenting in her advocacy for the breed - these dogs aren't just a 'number' for her and she remembers each by name and story no matter how many she has rescued (and that's in the thousands, believe me). Having once been a leading Australian JR Trainer and Breeder, Jill's dedication to the breed is truly unparalleled - raising money for the kennels, assisting families who need funding for vet bills or training, ensuring that her JRs are placed with the right families...you name it, Jill is there without a question asked.

Jill and Jack Russell Rescue are synonymous, one simply doesn't exist without the other....and now Jill and her JRR team need our help.

Vet bills at the kennels are in excess of $70,000 per annum, not to mention all of the other expenses - food, water, electricity, rent, shelters, maintenance, care...as dog owners will know, the list goes on.
This year just passed, Jill and Jack Russell Rescue were fortunate enough to receive a grant to cover some of these bills - a grant which expired in June of this year and cannot be re-applied for. Times are tough for all and unfortunately, this means more surrenders and less adoptions, which means fewer of our special Jack Russells are rescued. It hurts just to think about.

I can't provide a grant.
I'm not a Vet that can offer services in good will.
I'm only one person - but together we can make a difference and every dollar counts.

So please, I ask you to look at your furry friend and give what you can - no donation is too small (or too big!!!) and whilst $70,000 might be a lot, our Jacks would tell us to jump for the stars, because you might just catch one.

Thank you so much,

Eleisha
