Jacky Sumner Burn Fundraiser

Everyone and anyone who knows Jacky, knows she has the biggest heart. She always sees the silver lining in everything and believes in everyone she knows. She is always willing to help anyone or any animal in need.

Right now, she needs some of that help and prayers sent her way.

On Monday October 9th, 2023, Jacky was involved in an industrial explosion and was burned. She was burned on her face, both hands, neck and back. My son, who works with her, called me and told me about the accident. She was air lifted from Fairview Wyoming hospital to Regions. I rushed to Regions and was allowed back to her room, I have never seen her so scared and in so much pain. It broke my heart that I could do nothing to help her but be there by her side.

The Doctor's say the burns cover 13.2% of her body with both 2nd and 3rd degree burns. She has undergone two skin graft surgeries on her hands, neck and back. She has gone through painful daily baths/showers and numerous dressing changes.

After 3 1/2 weeks, she is home and is doing her best to heal both physically and mentally. Her animals are by her side and helping her heal. It will take months, maybe years for her to heal. She will have to go to appointments to have her dressings changed, physical therapy and regular check up's.

She currently has to wear compression gloves on both hands and was told she may have to wear them for up to a year, therefore she will not be able to use her hands to their full potential. She has not been given a prognosis yet on how long she will be out of work or how long it will take for her to heal to 100%, if she ever gets back to normal again.

Although she is currently receiving worker compensation benefits, they do not compensate full time pay. With an undetermined time out of work, she is in need of our help with monthly bills, and everyday needs.
