Jackie Dennis Fundraiser

As many of you know, it’s been a rough time for me & my family. Jackie has been in the hospital since November 20th 2020. We went to the ER that night because Jackie was not feeling well, shortly after being there they had admitted her. They did a routine Covid 19 test that night it came back positive. With Jackie already being 35 weeks pregnant we didn’t know what to expect. She had been dealing with Pre-Eclampsia prior to this. Things began to progress fast while in the hospital. With the way pre-eclampsia started to effect Jackie’s blood pressure they wanted to induce her at 36 weeks. Right at the 36 week mark on November 27th 2020 Jackie gave birth to our first child Mia Rose Dennis. This was happiest day of our life together. Sadly Jackie’s began to have effects from Covid-19. Jackie was not able to come home with Mia and I, she ended up with pneumonia from the Covid. Jackie was transferred to the ICU on a high flow nasal cannula. Her symptoms began to to get worse and they had to be on a ventilator December 5th. The Henry Ford Wyandotte team did as much as they could, but she needed more. On December 10th, Jackie was then transferred to Henry Ford Main Campus downtown. When she arrived she was placed in the MICU department. A few days went by and she was then transferred to the CVICU where they placed her on another type of life support called ECMO. machine. ECMO stands for Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. What this ECMO machine does is its able to help you oxygenate while you can’t oxygenate your self. They place large cannulas in veins or arteries that take your blood and run it through a machine that then oxygenates it and puts it right back into your body so your other organs stay oxygenated. Jackie has been on ECMO over 30 days now. The team of Doctors thought it was time to make a new plans to save Jackie’s life. At this time Jackie had 0% lung function on her own. Jackie was then quickly approved and listed for a double lung transplant on January 6th. We have now received an offer and accepted new lungs. Today January 16th Jackie is receiving her new lungs.
Jackie is a life long resident of Wyandotte. A former cheer coach for the Roosevelt Cheer team. She currently works for the Huron School District and is also the Coach for their cheer team. She’s a loving wife, mom, daughter, friend and so much more. She is loved by all. If you know Jackie then you know she is one hell of a fighter and we are looking forward to the day she comes home to her family and most of all Watch Mia grow up!
If your not in the position to donate, please share our story. I appreciate all the love and support I have been receiving. All proceeds will help towards medical bills and after care for Jackie.
