Jackie Ellis Recovery from Lahaina Fires

Aloha!

My name is Jackie Ellis, many of you know me as Ms. Ellis. I am very proud to be a teacher at Lahainaluna High School, going on my 5th year. I also did a year at Baldwin High School before LHS. I currently teach biology and marine science and have been the senior class advisor for the past 3 years.

I have been in Maui for 10 years now, and I am so grateful to the community for taking me in and letting me be a part of the Lahainaluna community. I was lucky enough to have my own home in Lahainatown, and I am SO THANKFUL that it is somehow still standing when others across the parking lot from me lost everything.

I hesitated to put out a GoFundMe because I knew I hadn't lost as much as others. As the days have gone on, I realize that I won't be able to live in my home even if I can access it. So I will most likely still be responsible for my mortgage and HOA fees every month AND need to find a rental to live in.

I REALLY want to stay and serve the Lahaina community, so I am asking for any help so I can afford to do so.
