Our dear friend, Jackie Mooney Angelucci, is going through a heart-wrenching experience and we’re hoping that by spreading her story we might be able to ease her family’s burden as she bravely fights for her life.
The story has a wonderful beginning…Jackie and Larry met, fell in love and after many years of dating decided to take the plunge into wedded bliss in November 2018. Their honeymoon in Italy was the trip of lifetime and an amazing way to start their lives as husband and wife. They both knew they didn’t want to wait long to expand their family and on September 22, 2019, they lovingly and excitedly welcomed “Baby Lucci” into the world, who we now know as Bryce. The day was even more special because it was Jackie’s 33rd birthday as well.
Unfortunately, this is where the happy story takes a turn for the worse…6 weeks after Bryce was born, Jackie discovered a lump in her breast. After doctors’ visits and tests, they were given the news that no one ever wants to receive. Not only was the lump cancerous, but it was an aggressive form that had already spread to Jackie’s lymph nodes. Determined to fight and do whatever was necessary to rid her body of this terrible disease, Jackie and Larry sought out the best doctors and created a plan to get started on treatment immediately. She had several months of chemotherapy only to have the tumor return with a vengeance. This led to an emergency mastectomy and then further grueling treatments. Sadly, her doctors recently delivered the most devastating news yet. Despite their efforts, the cancer has now spread to her lungs and the diagnosis is terminal. Jackie is 34 years old.
Cancer is never the journey you want someone you love and care about to have to endure and Jackie has been bravely fighting her battle for close to a year now (the first year of her sweet baby boy’s life). Her ability to stay positive as she fights so hard through the physical and mental turmoil this horrible disease delivers is unbelievable. For those of you who are lucky enough to know Jackie, you know she is strong (beyond measure), selfless, devoted, an amazing daughter, wife, mother, friend and just an absolutely beautiful soul.
We wanted to create this GoFundMe page for Jackie as she has lived her life always helping those in need. Now, we hope and pray that everyone will pull together and show her the love and support she so generously offers to others. The medical bills for her treatments are mounting and overwhelming. In addition, there is a new medication that is her best chance for slowing the progression of the cancer, but it is not covered by insurance. So, they will need to cover the cost of it themselves which will be an astronomical expense.
If there is even the slightest chance for Jackie to have more time with her family, she deserves that and more. In addition to adorable, one-year old Bryce, Jackie has a 13-year-old daughter, Aubrey, who is so strong and beautiful, just like her mom! No family deserves this, but especially this family and it would be comforting to know that we pulled together to ease their burden in some small way.
We hope that you’ll find it in your heart to help in any way that you can. Thank you for your help, your thoughts and your prayers for Jackie.
