Jackie's Nanoknife Procedure

We are asking your support of our beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend-Jackie Parker. In August of 2017, Jackie woke up on what seemed like a typical day, headed to the doctor for a pre-op visit for another minor medical procedure. However, what happened in the days following the visit to the doctor was not typical at all. After noticing a discoloration in her eyes, Jackie proceeded to the doctor and was immediately admitted to the hospital.  After several tests we received the news that rocked our family. Jackie was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer-one of the most aggressive forms of cancer that exist. Her only son, wanting the best for his mom, immediately went into action and located the best doctor in Miami and placed her under his care. Since her diagnosis she has undergone chemo therapy and been hospitalized with numerous medical issues related to the cancer and chemo treatment, and with God's healing touch the tumor has started to shrink. Because of where the tumor is located on her pancreas (encasing a major blood vessel) she is not able to undergo traditional surgery to have it removed. Her doctor recently recommended that she see a specialist that performs a cutting-edge procedure called NanoKnife. It is a minimally invasive treatment procedure for inoperable tumors such as hers. Our family has been praying without ceasing that she would be eligible for the procedure-for we know that God truly answers prayers!! In April, our prayers were answered!!! Jackie found out that her insurance will cover most of the hospital bills and medications but will not cover the physician fee. So we held our breath.... and we were told that the uncovered fee is $25,000. This fee must be paid in full before the procedure can be scheduled and performed. As you can imagine, with this unforeseen medical diagnosis, Jackie's current medical bills are growing and she has had to retire from her job at Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines International after 26 ½ years.  

The family has been working together to help financially, physically, and spiritually throughout the last 8 months. And it is with a humble heart that we are reaching out to our family and friends to help us raise the $25,000 needed to cover this procedure.

To know Jackie is to love Jackie.  She is always willing to help others; whether it is taking the time to visit others when they are sick or sending a thoughtful gift for special occasions, she loves doing for others.  During basketball season, you can always find Jackie cheering and couch-coaching her favorite team, the Miami Heat. She loves to bake and is an all-around fun spirited person.  She needs our support now and we can't help but want to do all we can to help her fight this horrible disease.
