Jackson Danger Davis medical bills

I am Jackson’s mom. He is an sweet 8 year little boy with who was sick at Children’s Mercy in Kansas City for 31 days.

Jackson is a sweet little boy who loved playing outside, running, and riding his bike and hoverboard. He wanted to grow up to build houses for people and be a rock star.

He spent 31 days in the hospital. He was unconscious for a week. Spending 9 days in the ICU. He lost the ability to walk and talk. He is relearning how to do all tasks normal for a child.

He is beginning his PT/OT/ Speech therapy. He has difficulty eating and talking. He currently has the mental capacity of child about 3-4 years old. The doctors are hopeful that he will regain his abilities with time.

Jackson will have intensive rehab for speech, OT, and PT for at least 3 months.

He had Mycoplasma pneumonia and it lead to the ultra rare complication of mycoplasma encephalitis.

I took Jackson to ER on Sunday, November 5. He had been sick with Fever for 10 days and had seen doctor several times. But that day he stopped eating and was really confused. He was admitted to hospital. The he got worse on Monday and was moved into ICU.

He was in hospital from Sunday November 5 and in the ICU Monday November 6 to Wednesday November 15. We are now out of ICU.

He was unconscious for a week. Which were the hardest days in my life watching him and not knowing if he would wake up.

We did 5 days of IVIG treatment. However, it did not work in assisting with his neurological recovery.

We began treatment with Amantadine in order to stimulate his brain and muscle activity. This treatment has shown promising results in stimulating his brain and ability move.

The doctor is saying with the Mycoplasma Encephalitis. That recovery can take weeks or months. Most of which is going to be in the hospital.

He is going to require speech, occupational therapy, and physical therapy 6 times a week for months.

Jackson now requires round the clock care. There is still lots of items needed in order to bring him home.

We also have twins who are 6 years old at home and are fostering my 6 year old niece.
