Jackson Mississippi Water Crisis Relief Efforts

Tax deductible
Want to join me in making a difference? As opposed to talking about it I'm taking action and being about it. I'm raising money to help in addressing the unfortunate water crisis situation in Jackson, Mississippi,

Issue Background
There are water treatment plant issues as a result of a recent storm and subsequent flooding leaving a significant amount of Jackson residents without enough water and / or enough clean water to be able to drink, wash their teeth, take showers in a safe way, flush their toilets, etc. There have also been longstanding infrastructural issues leading to a suboptimal water situation going back to at least the 1970's.

Additionally, water pressure was greatly reduced for an extended period of time which led public schools having to move to online schooling which has been shown to be less effective than in person schooling. Schools which need water for their A/C units have also been adversely impacted by this. A boil water advisory was implemented in July and was exasperated by the flood in August after the flood hit and unfortunately these kinds of advisories are not a new thing for Jackson.

Connection
Many of my family members were longtime residents of Jackson, Mississippi with a couple of them attending Jackson State University, also, many extended family members are still in the area and have served the community in ways such as sitting in mayoral seats and campaigning for Congress. My connections to Mississippi run deep.

Additionally, I am passionate about assisting with various issues in Ward I of Aurora (where I was raised) in addition to any other domestic or global issues which strike a chord with me. Basically, giving back and paying it forward is very important to me as I have been blessed to have had certain experiences and been in certain positions. Demonstrations of this include the fact that I am a board member of the non-profit Royal Up, I have an audience with Crystal Murillo, the Ward I Councilwoman and Angela Lawson, Councilwoman At Large for Aurora (who is also on the board of Royal Up), Sergeant T. Graham who is with the Patrol Division of the Aurora Police Area Representative (PAR) unit which aims to depart from traditional policing concepts and emphasizes sensitivity and responsiveness to citizen concerns, amongst other things.

Strategic Solution
Understand the strategic efforts the local municipalities are embarking upon in concert with the State and Federal government to plan for and ultimately solve this problem. Additionally, partnering with private entities and companies to help drive forward solutions which are currently being determined to address the longer
