Jackson Sherrill’s Eagle Project

My name is Jackson Sherrill, as many of you may know, I have been in Scouting since the first grade. I started as a Tiger in Cub Scouts and after years in scouting, I am now a Life Scout and working on my Eagle Scout Rank with Troop 1014 in Cypress, Texas. The scouting program has given me a responsible and honest foundation for my future. The most important part of the Eagle Scout rank is the Eagle Project. Which requires me to plan out a project, recruit volunteers, acquire the materials, and act as the foreman of the project. One major part of the eagle project is raising the funds to complete the project. 100% of the funds donated will be used to buy materials, tools, supplies and other necessary costs for the building of a memorial bench, planting a tree and cleaning up around the lake in Goforth Park. This is all to commemorate fellow Eagle Scout Alex Hatcher, who lost his life last year. Alex planted several trees in Goforth Park as part of his Eagle Project. In order to make this project a reality, I am asking for the financial support of family and friends. I have estimated that the cost of my project will be about $1,200. If you are willing and able to donate to my project, I would be greatly appreciative. Any amount, even $10, would help me complete my project and ultimately earn my Eagle Rank in Scouting. The park will use this bench so that visitors will be able to have a pleasant and comfortable place to sit and be outdoors. As well as being able to sit and remember Alex. Any proceeds will be donated to a charity in Alex’s name.
