Jackson's ABA Therapy (First Year)

Jackson is a fun, energetic and sweet 4 year old boy who also happens to have Autism. Our hope is to raise enough money to fund his first full year of ABA therapy. Eventually our goal in addition to ABA,  is to enroll him in Speech, OT and start a Biomedical approach to his healing. 

Since 2014 we have applied and been denied numerous times for Medicaid insurance coverage for Jackson. In November of 2016 he was approved for Social Security and Medicaid coverages. Although Jackson had previously been diagnosed by a neurologist, the state of Michigan requires specific testing centers in order to qualify for their programs. We started Day 1 with our attempt to enroll in ABA therapy, but many hoops had to be jumped before our start date of May 17th, 2017. Days before our start day we were informed Jackson no longer qualified for his Social Security benefits, therefore losing his Medicaid coverage as well. 

After seeing many positive changes in Jackson in such a short period of time in ABA, Rob and I decided this is something we would really like to pursue and expect to see great success throughout his duration of therapy.

I have enrolled Jackson in a private insurance company, with the lowest co-pays I was able to find; which will begin June 1st. We are looking at a yearly cost of just over 5k, in addition to his neurologist, allergist and primary health providers. 

We have went back and forth about creating a Go Fund Me , as this is not for a "life saving" treatment. We do believe it will be a "life changing" therapy.  We are currently saving for a reliable vehicle to transport Jackson to and from these therapies, as well as preparing for our 2nd child on the way. Both of which helped us in making the decision to reach out for help funding his first year of therapy.
