Jacob Bongers- a real life superhero!
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Kelli Maas and my husband Brian and I are close friends of the Bongers family. I set up this fundraiser for Jacob Bongers, age 9, who was recently diagnosed with brain cancer. He just underwent extensive brain surgery and is hospitalized in Rochester. He is doing well, as we all knew he would, but the pain and recovery from surgery has been really difficult to manage (difficult being an understatement!). Jacob and his family have a long road ahead with daily radiation, followed up with one year of chemotherapy to BEAT this cancer.
Jacob isn't just your regular 9 year old. He's always looking for a way to make everyone else smile. It can be some silly joke or some one-liner he rattles off, that will just make you laugh out loud. He's strong-willed and smart, and isn't about to let this diagnosis define him or his family.
I am hoping we can all raise some money for this brave, strong family to help with the upcoming expenses for travel, medical bills, food, and potential unpaid leave to care for Jacob. Paul is self- employed, running a machine shop locally, and Larissa works in education and more than likely going to have to take along term leave of absence. Please don't feel obligated, as a monetary gift is great, but prayers, good vibes, real or virtual hugs, food, or anything else is sincerely appreciated. Paul and Larissa have said to me multiple times, they are beyond grateful for everything they have received thus far and cannot believe the amount of support from friends and family! Let's all continue to rally for Jacob, they need as much help and support as we can give them!!!
