Jacob Cassell Memorial Fundraiser

Donation protected
This fundraiser aims to build a memorial for Winston Churchill High School student, Jacob Cassell. On July 31st, 2019, Jacob was struck by a car after falling off his bike at the age of just 17. However, this did not stop him from leaving a lasting impact on our community and communities around the world. This memorial will reflect Jacob’s love for riding his bike, incorporating a bike repair station along with multiple bike racks at Winston Churchill High School, in his favorite color, purple.

Jacob Brian Cassell was born with autism and was a leading figure in the special needs community. From serving mission trips with his church to the Dominican Republic and Honduras to being an active member of Boy Scout Troop 233, Jacob continued to push the boundaries of not only what he could do, but more importantly, who he could help.

During his mission trip to Honduras as part of Project Honduran Child, Jacob packaged backpacks full of school supplies and distributed them to 140 kids across 5 different mountain villages.

During his mission trip to the Dominican Republic, Jacob helped lead a vacation bible school for young kids, teaching them about the gospel.

When Jacob arrived at Winston Churchill High School, he became the equipment manager and waterboy for the football team. Soon after asking the head coach, however, he donned the Bulldog costume and became the mascot for the Winston Churchill Bulldogs.

As a boy scout, Jacob Cassell earned the rank of life scout, one rank away from the highest rank in scouting, the Eagle Scout rank. Jacob had finished all of the requirements for Eagle except for his eagle scout project, which he had planned for September 2019. His project was later completed by his family and his troop.

Jacob Cassell was a shining member of our society. He spread his love and compassion to everyone he met. Jacob was a leader, a friend, and an inspiration to all. Above all, however, he was and forever will be our bulldog.
