Jacob could use our help ❤️

My name is Jennah and I have created this fundraiser for my brother, Jacob Oldefest.

Jacob is a Paramedic at Denver Health and was struck by a drunk driver while he was riding his bicycle home from work late Wednesday night. The driver fled but was later located and arrested.

Jacob sustained multiple traumatic injuries including a gnarly break to his femur, lacerations to his kidney and liver, a hematoma around his mesenteric artery and bruising and abrasions over his entire body. He is not quite out of the woods but he is strong and working hard to heal. In true Jacob fashion, he’s never stopped cracking jokes and is still smiling that big, beautiful grin.

Jacob’s quick reflexes, the incredibly fast response time and the general badassery of the two Paramedics (Jen & Jordan!!!) that Jacob is so lucky to have on his team, saved his life.

Jacob loves to ride his bike and is part of the Paramedic bike team at Denver Health. He loves to ride to and from work and uses it as a way to decompress from his intense job. Lately, he’s been using his bike as his daily driver because his car was stolen from the hospital parking garage about a month ago while he was on shift… I mean, talk about a rough month!

The money donated will go towards Jacob’s monthly expenses, replacing his vehicle, replacing his bike and helmet, medical bills and general peace of mind so that Jacob can focus on his recovery.

This is just the beginning of a long road for Jacob. He has many months of hard work, pain, frustration, sadness, etc. but he’s got this! Although Jacob’s injuries are severe, we are all so very thankful that he is still here with us.

To know Jacob is to love Jacob and he needs all the love he can get right now!!
