Jacob Kendrick STEM Trip Opportunity

Donation protected

Jacob has the opportunity of a lifetime to go to the Florida Keys for an educational retreat next summer with his science teacher and friends from school. He was invited to go, which is no surprise as Jacob is such a smart and talented kid. I would love for him to be able to have this experience. He deserves it.

It's a 5-day and 4-night trip in early June 2024. The total cost is around $3,500 per person. He was so excited to tell me that I was invited to go as well! However, I can't afford to go with him but I don't want him to miss this chance. He'll get to snorkel reefs, swim with dolphins, see the Everglades, kayak in the Florida Keys, and so much more.

I've never been one to ask for help as I would rather be the one doing the helping, so this is hard for me to even start. As you may or not be aware on November, 20th 2013, Jacob's father, Matt Kendrick, was tragically killed in a car accident. Jacob was 2 years old at the time, and his father was only 20 years old.

(Apparently cellphone photo quality was that of a potato in 2011)

I had Jacob when I was 18, so I always knew it would be hard raising a child as a teenager, I just wasn't prepared to be forced into being a single parent at such a young age. I have never been able to really save for Jacob's future, as all the money I've ever earned has gone into making sure he has everything he needs for a successful and happy childhood.

(I can’t even believe this kid will be 12 next month!)
This is the Jacob that some of you remember, he's the same.
He's exactly the same.

Now, let me tell you why I am asking for help this time around.

I will never be able to afford to give him memorable childhood trips to different states, let alone retreats in the Florida Keys. If you can't help, trust me, I wouldn't be asking. I appreciate you even clicking and reading this far. And if by chance, you can or happen to know somebody who is generous enough to let this happen for Jake.

Jacob is in his first year of middle school and is thriving. This trip would mean the world to him as he knows how tight we are on money. I hate that I might not ever be able to take him to Disney, let alone Florida, especially when he's still young and carefree enough to enjoy things like this. He is the best big brother to his two younger brothers, Rylan and River, and I want to surprise him this Christmas with the ability to go on this “Splash into Science” Florida trip.

If you are not comfortable donating online, I completely understand. I have other ways that you can help me make this dream come true for a truly special kid.

You can mail donations to me, or come over to my house and give them to me.

I do appreciate everything from everybody. Thank you SO much.
