JACOB’S DREAM GREENHOUSE - YOUR HELP IS NEEDED

Jacob’s DREAM is to build and maintain a greenhouse at our home. He dreams of growing his own foods, organically and safely…without chemicals and pesticides. And incorporate some exotic plants from other parts of the world since we cannot travel there.

We are trying to fund this DREAM through very generous donations and through partnering with local volunteers and suppliers to obtain the structure and resources to build the foundation, and implement all the supporting components for a functioning greenhouse. Then, partner to gain the plants. 

But, we aren’t there yet - this is where we need your help.

Why does Jacob want a Greenhouse?

Jacob loves to garden and nurture plants, he calls veggies and fruits God’s candy for our bodies. Jacob dreams of this greenhouse for several reasons which include:

       

 Building this greenhouse will provide a lot of joy while fueling his aspiration to become a horticultural expert. (Master Gardener).

       

 He wants to grow his HEALTHY, cancer-fighting diet with many organic fruits, veggies and herbs he needs for strength.

     

 In the long term, Jacob wants his greenhouse to be a place where our family can gather and make some local memories of planting, nurturing, growing and producing healthy foods, where we can prepare them as a family, and eventually create a legacy “space” for Jacob.

However, we have about a $40,000 deficit to get everything in place. The additional items we need include:

The 20 x 15 foot floor size, tall sides and extended roof cupola section allow space for all of your plant growing needs.

Prepare Yard & Foundation: $15,000 

        Perimeter concrete footing (required per the specs);

        Concrete Slab (not required), Solexx flooring or gravel/mulch for the floor;

        Floor drains which could be daylighted outside the greenhouse;

        Power: Lighting in greenhouse and electricity for fans;

        Water (hose bibb);

        Heater (to keep vegetation alive during fall, winter);

        Shelving and planters.
