Our beloved Joseph “Joey,” “Roy, died on January 9, 2021, after a long battle with addiction. He leaves behind many friends and family, but most importantly, he also leaves his son, Jacob Roy.
Jacob is about to turn 14 and is a loving and caring boy, who had a close bond with his father despite his struggles with addiction. They say that the heart of a child can always forgive, and anyone who saw Joe and Jacob together could see the undeniable bond they shared.
As Joe's friends, we want to make sure that Jacob is taken care of in the absence of his Dad. Jacob lives with Joe's parents, Mary and Larry, and it's our goal to make sure that they have little to worry about when it comes to Jacob's needs, whether it be for education, sports fees and equipment or other needs that might arise.
All funds will go directly to Mary and Larry Roy to be used solely for the care of Jacob.
We will all miss Joe terribly - his smile, his dance moves and his general good-natured attitude. Despite the demons he was constantly battling, he always had time for a friend or to lend a kind word or a smile. It's now our opportunity to return that kindness by way of his son, who undoubtedly has some of the best qualities that we all loved in Joe.
