Jacob Beck's Medical Fund

My nephew, Jacob “Jake” Beck, was diagnosed in June 2015 with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Jake’s cancer is inoperable as the tumor is wrapped around a vein. Jacob will begin a chemotherapy regimen on Monday, July 27th. The initial treatment will include six rounds of chemotherapy, one every two weeks. How he responds to treatment will determine what occurs beyond the initial treatment phase.
At the time of diagnosis Jacob did not have health care coverage and while he is now insured the coverage is minimal, paying just 30% of the cost to fight this disease. Lymphoma is a cancer with a very high survival rate, but the cost of treating it is staggering. The known costs at this time include at least two PET scans ($6k each), 6 chemo treatments ($4.5k each), two biopsies ($2.5k each) as well as the unknown cost of lab tests and physicians. We are trying to raise $50k to help Jacob and his wife Patricia defray the expected and unexpected costs related to fighting Jake’s cancer.
Jake grew up in Clatskanie, Oregon and is a descendent of Oregon Trail Pioneers. He is now a partner with his dad Steve in Beck’s Construction LLC working in the Longview Southwest Washington area. At 30 he’s a master carpenter who also grows an incredible vegetable garden every year. Jacob is very unassuming and absolutely hates to have his picture taken. We are all going to miss his awesome beard when the chemo takes it away!
Any help you can give will be appreciated by Jake as well as his immediate and extended family.
