Jacobs medical bills & to bring him home to AUS!

Hi everyone, this fundraiser has been started to help cover the amounting hospital costs in Greece, help aid in Jacobs safe return home to Australia for further medical treatment and to help reduce the financial strain on his family. My happy-go-lucky friend Jacob had been selected to go to Greece with his university for an archeology dig. Once finished he continued on solo travelling throught the islands in awe of the cultural immersion. In a freak accident on the 5th of July, Jacob now in Mykonos, had fallen off six metres off a balcony, found unresponsive, but through the saving grace of onlookers holidaying at the same time help was called. He was transfered from Mykonos to Attikon General Hospital in Athens via helicopter. Jacob has sustained fractures to his femur, pelvis and left arm, which he has undergone emergency surgery for when he first presented. While all this was happening family and friends back in Australia had no idea that Jacob was fighting for his life in a foregin country alone and without support. Currently he is still in hopsital unsafe for discharge or transfer home, yet now with his Mum and friends by his bedside. Options given were medical evacuation, with specialist nursing care, or to continue to stay in the hospital in Greece, possibly for months, both avenues being extremely expensive and have life long effects on his future both physically and mentally. Thank you all for the outpouring of love and generosity for Jacob. 

Jacob is able to stand, however walking is still a work in progress. At this point the funds raised will be going to pay the hospital bill. Although funds are still required for Jacobs repatriation at some point back to Aus.
