Jaelyn’s Road to Recovery
Donation protected
There are always good and bad times in everyone’s life, but then there are unspeakable moments that wreck your world. For my sister, it was the day her 16 year old daughter, Jaelyn, unexpectedly and without reason fell prey to an aneurysm. She was in the hospital for abdominal pain and randomly, again for no reason anyone can find, became disoriented and confused. My sister, Lindsey, who is a nurse advocated passionately for her daughter. However, since she was admitted for abdominal pain, the idea that she was having neurological issues was absurd. She was a healthy normal 16 year old, whose mother’s intuition knew something was wrong. From the moment the aneurism was discovered, Jaelyn received exceptional care from a fantastic neurosurgeon and his team. They performed an emergent craniotomy open flap with external ventricular drain. Open flap means they left the bone out and will add it back in 3 months. Our niece will have to shave half her head again in 3 months and in the meantime wear a helmet to ensure no damage occurs. Jaelyn
is going through something we never want anyone to go through. She is the kindest, funniest, and most lovable girl you will ever meet. She should never have to experience the trauma and pain this aneurysm has caused. She will have to now endure physical therapy, occupational therapy, and extensive speech therapy to learn everything all over again. We pray she comes back to us and fully recovers. That being said, my sister Lindsey and her husband Richard never ask for help. They endure and persevere but we know they will need help to remain at Jaelyn’s bedside these next few months. We know our prayers are being heard by her surviving subarachnoid hemorrhage/aneurysm. Now we just want to take away one less burden from Lindsey and Richard so they can focus solely on her recovery. We ask you in their time of need to please bless them with whatever you can in order to help keep them by Jaelyn’s side. She will need all your love and support during this crucial time. If you can’t contribute, we completely understand, and just ask for continued prayers during this challenging time. We know God’s power to heal is infinite. Jeremiah 33:6.
God bless each of you and thank you for your support. #prayforJaelyn
