Jaime's Cancer Journey
Donation protected
Jaime was diagnosed with Appendix Cancer in April of 2023. By the time it was found, it had spread throughout her abdomen. We are prayerful that Jaime will be able to conquer this, but it won't be without a fight.
In 2023, the treatment plan consisted of a major surgery to remove all of the cancer (along with quite a few non-essential parts) and a one-time chemo treatment that happens at the same time as the surgery. Then systemic chemo for 6 months to try to clean up anything that may have spread past her abdomen. That treatment ended in December.
In 2024, a routine follow-up CT scan revealed a recurrence of the cancer in her abdomen. She did another 12 rounds of chemo that ended the week of Thanksgiving. Scans revealed that chemo kept the cancer from growing but didn't shrink it.
In 2025, continued treatment and plans are developing as she works with her doctors to choose the best path forward. First on the docket is another surgery that is scheduled for January 6th.
This, of course, has been and will continue to be quite an undertaking for Jaime as well as her family. It will take it's toll physically, emotionally, and financially.
First and foremost, our family covets your prayers and encouragement during this time. We would not be able to face this without it. If you are able, we are also grateful for any help you are able to provide towards the added expenses that a major medical curve-ball like this brings. We thank you for walking beside us as we trust God to get us through this season.
