Olivia Goes to D.C.

Hello all!
As most of you know, Olivia loves all things learning, school, friends, and fun. And I love this about her! For the past two years, she has worked hard to be on the Superintendent's Honor Roll, UIL teams, and keeping up with her school work while taking gymnastics and/or dance class, and has been involved in the Strings Project with SFA (Stephen F. Austin State University), learning to play the Viola and the Cello. She has accomplished so much all while be a student in the Dual Language Program where she has been learning Spanish since Kindergarten, where she maintains As and Bs.
Next year, Olivia will start 6th grade! As a 6th grader, she has the opportunity to go on the 6th grade Washington D.C. trip Labor Day weekend. This will be an amazing experience for her to see and learn about all the history she loves, especially the Civil Rights Movement. I will be going with her, but we could use assistance in paying for her portion of the trip. The total cost includes round trip flight, tour guide, 3 nights hotel lodging, meals, motorcoach, motorcoach to and from airport, a security guard in our hallway at the hotel, tickets and meals to scheduled events, daily breakfast, tickets to the Washington Nationals baseball game (including food voucher), Smithsonian Zoo, dinner at the airport on Departure Day. Students are scheduled to visit twelve (12) sites/monuments.
This trip will be such an amazing opportunity for Olivia to learn and enjoy the experience with friends and classmates. HER goal for 5th/6th grade is to make it into the STEM-prep and GT (Gifted & Talented) magnets. A trip like this would benefit her in so many ways.
As gifts are donated, I will keep everyone updated with where we are towards the financial goal.
Thank you!
