Jake Atafua and his family

Hi my name is Tina Henline and I started this fundraiser on behalf of Jake Atafua. An amazing father, friend and fisherman who lost everything in the Lāhainā fires.

Jake insists he is fine, that he is alive and has all that he needs but we know that every little bit will help him get back on his feet.

Jake stayed in Lāhainā trying to save the boats in the harbor until the very last moment. Then he walked over 10 miles in the dark to Kihei. Jake was on the missing list and out of contact for days before we even realized he was ok. He lost his phone, his home and his vehicle as his town went up in flames.

Everyone who knows Jake knows that he would give you the shirt off his back before ever asking for help. He has lost his main source of income as the charter boat he worked on, Like Try, was taken by the fires. Jake has a 15 year old daughter on Maui to also take care of and despite all that he has lost, he continues to help his community get necessary supplies and essential items every day, putting the needs of others before himself.

100% of the money raised will go directly to Jake to help him buy clothing, food and anything else he needs to get his life back on track.
