Jake - Derby's therapy dog

Hi, my name is Jake, and I am an English Labrador Retriever who is the luckiest dog in the world. I have completed my first school year at Derby Middle School. I made so many new friends, it has been amazing. I am looking forward to meeting all my new sixth-grade friends in August.

First, I want to thank everyone who takes care of me. The generous Derby families who donate to GoFundMe to pay for my care, Premier Pet Supply, Beverly Hills Veterinary Associates, the Pratt family (where I live when I'm not at school), and the Birmingham/Bloomfield Rotary Club for purchasing me and paying for my special training.

My Derby family has set up this GoFundMe account to ensure I am well cared for. Throughout the year, I need regular check-ups and vaccines, lots of grooming (helps with allergens), food, supplies, insurance, licenses and incidentals. For all of you with four-legged friends, you know our care can be expensive, but well worth it!

For those of you who haven't met me yet, here is a little bit more about me. I was born on December 16, 2021. I have a brother, Santos, whose home is Oxford High School. I started a rigorous training program to become a social/emotional therapy dog at ten weeks old. I learned a lot, and am still learning. My human friends tell me that I am gentle, fun to be around and make them happy. I enjoy long walks, playing tug of war and fetch when I am not at school.
