Jake Dolan and His Family
Donation protected
In the early morning hours of July 11th, our friend Jake Dolan was taken to the emergency room in extraordinary pain. Shortly after being admitted, it was discovered Jake was suffering from severe necrotizing pancreatitis. He was moved into the CCU (formally known as the ICU) where he remained for the next five days. He had an MRI, an ultrasound, three CT scans, 5 ECGs, and multiple blood tests performed. He is now resting and healing at home after a total of 11 days in the hospital, but his care providers say he has a LONG road to recovery that will take months as his necrotized pancreas needs to regenerate. Jake's care team suspects that this is all related to chronic mysterious elevated liver function tests that also possibly resulted in the removal of his gallbladder two years ago. As there are a number of questions left unanswered, they are looking for specialists at Mayo Clinic and elsewhere to seek long-term treatment and prevention plans. At this time, Jake is struggling with feeling weak, fatigued, uncomfortable, and struggles to keep food down for more than a few days at a time. His resting heart rate is still really high and he can't stand for more than a few minutes at a time. In addition to missing an unknown number of days of (100% commission-based) work, the Dolans are facing an onslaught of medical bills. This is the Dolan family's third major medical emergency in three years and their HSA savings are drained. Additionally, two days after Jake came home from the hospital they found mold in their house that had been caused by an ice dam. Fixing this will involve tearing out and replacing a whole section of the wall and carpet. We want to help take some of the financial burden off of this wonderful family so they can focus on Jake’s healing. Jake is an incredible friend, dad, and husband please join us in showing him, Kristina, Anna, and Beckett our support.
