Help Jake Beat Testicular Cancer
Donation protected
On Saturday, October 13, 2018 my brother Jake Ellison went to the emergency room because he was having pain and discomfort in his testicle. He was told that night after an ultrasound that he had a large mass on his left testicle and they believed it was testicular cancer. A few days later he spoke with an urologist who said that they would need to remove the testicle and conduct blood tests and CT scans to assess the type and stage. That Friday, Jake went in for surgery and they removed the testicle and mass. After the biopsy, scans and blood work they determined that he has stage 2A testicular cancer and it spread to a lymph node in his abdomen. The next step of treatment is chemotherapy.
As most of you know, Jake has already been through so much in his 25 years. Having gone through 3 open heart surgeries, he is a fighter. He is one of the strongest & kindest human beings I have ever known. If anyone can beat this, it is him. I admire him for how positive and optimistic he has been throughout all of this. He’s constantly making jokes to brighten everyone's moods and never showing any signs of weakness. He is also staying incredibly strong for his wife and son Dominic and has been far more concerned how everyone else is taking the news than himself. Jake is the kind of guy that would give the shirt off his back to help someone else and would never ask for anything in return.
Unfortunately, he has a long road ahead of him. He is the sole provider for his family and will be out of work indefinitely at this point. If we could help limit some of the financial burden that comes with this battle, it would be one less stress that he can avoid so he can focus on getting better and beating this! Thank you all for the prayers & support. We appreciate every one of you!
