Jake Elwood

Hi, my name is Tina and I am Colleen’s sister and Jakes aunt. Some of you know that Jake was admitted to Jersey Shore on Wednesday 11/9/22 for a ruptured appendix that caused an infection around it. Friday, the 11th was his 7th birthday and while he received birthday messages, balloons and gifts he also received a drain in his abdomen to drain the infection around his appendix. Things were looking good on Monday and the drain was removed. It was looking like he was going to maybe be home at some point this weekend. Yesterday they did some more testing and found another pocket of infection near his bladder. They put another drain in him and gave him a catheter. Let me be clear when I tell you, Jake might be one of the strongest and wittiest kids I have ever come across. This past week has been challenging mentally, physically and emotionally but he still has a smile on his face. Colleen has been by his side the entire time and it’s looking like he is in for another week at least while the IV antibiotics try to fight everything off. Bills are going to start accumulating and I don’t want her or Mike to have to worry about that so I am asking if you could please donate, share and or say a prayer.
