Jake's Kenya challenge 2025

Let me take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Jake, I am 14 years old and attend The Wilnecote School in Tamworth.

I have always been told by my parents that the world is a much bigger place than Tamworth and that I should take every opportunity to see it. This is why with your help I have committed myself to attend Jake's Kenya challenge 2025 with Camps International. The aim of the four-week project is to contribute to vital work to support local communities, wildlife and the environment.

So why am I setting myself this challenge?

•Aim One: The main aim of this project is to support the communities, families, wildlife and environment of Kenya by volunteering my time and working with other volunteers.

•Aim Two: The second aim is all about ME as a person, this will give me the opportunity to gain some very important life skills such as money management, problem solving, everyday life skills such as cooking, working on my own and as part of a team.

Not only will I be gaining everyday life skills which will support me as I grow older, this will help me grow in confidence and give me a chance to show future employers that I am not afraid of hard work and that I have the drive, commitment and a willingness to succeed in all that I do. A chance to see that the world is a much bigger place than Tamworth although I will be away from family and friends.

What is the next stage?

To meet Jake’s Kenya challenge 2025, I must raise £4500 through sponsorship and fundraising events. Without the £4500 it will not be possible for me to go.
