Jake Lindstrom-Eagle Scout Project
Donation protected
Hello my name is Jake Lindstrom, a scout from Troop 49 in Eatontown, New Jersey. I am currently a Life Scout working towards my Eagle Scout rank. One of the requirements is to” plan, develop, and give leadership to others in a service project helpful to any religious institution, any school, or a community”. The entire project will be completed with donations and volunteers. I will raise all of the funds needed, seek volunteers and lead the project from start to finish. Please continue reading below to learn about my project. After reading please consider making a donation to help me reach my goal. The veterans, police department and myself will greatly appreciate it.
My Eagle Scout Project will be at the Jackson VFW post 4703. I have always known that when it came time to pick a project, I wanted to do something for our veterans. At the post they have a shooting range where they host shooting events. The range provides enjoyment to the veterans and their families and also serves as a place for the Jackson Police Department to train. Unfortunately, the shooting range is not in the condition to be used in a safe manner. I will be replacing the existing 25 shooting targets that are falling apart and not uniform in height and distance between shooting lanes. The new targets are going to be round metal fence posts and cemented into the ground so they will never fall apart or move out of place. The target backing will be u-bolted onto the fence post for easy adjustment and each lane will have a new identification sign. Also I will be replacing the 12' x 16' building that the VFW runs the shooting events out of. The building is rotting away and will soon be unsafe to use. I plan on completely knocking it down and putting up a new building. The new building will include a roof overhang on all sides and proper gutter system to direct water away from the building. Composite materials will be used as much as possible to ensure minimal maintenance and long life of the building structure for many years to come.
Please consider making a donation. All donations that I receive will be used for materials and supplies needed for my project. If there is money left over after the project is complete, it will be donated to the Jackson VFW post for any others needs they may have.
