Jake Lozano and his recovery from brain surgery.

I copied Jake's story from his mom's page.
He woke up on Thursday, April 28, and his eyes would not focus correctly. We thought it might correct itself, but after two days, we decided he needed to see his eye doctor asap. The eye doctor immediately sent us to the ER for a cat scan. The cat scan came back, showing a mass on his brain. We were absolutely devastated and shocked. After an ambulance ride and an MRI at Cooks, they diagnosed it as a cavernous malformation on the brain stem. It was a delicate and extremely risky surgery lasting over 7 hours. He had a fantastic group of medical professionals that completed the surgery and caring for him. Jake is going to have one incredible testimony! He has been unbelievably strong and knows and speaks that God will heal him. Lance Lozano and I know God will protect and heal our precious Jake. It would be amazing if we can use Jake's experience to show how God works miracles and bring more people to Christ.
Jake Update from his mom !! Update 6/11/2022
Jake has had some excellent progress with therapy over the past two weeks. He is ready to ditch the walker and start using hand crutches. Outside, he walked for 35 minutes with a few breaks on the crutches! He has also regained some feeling on the left side of his face after having electrode therapy. His eyes have not improved much, but we will tackle that with focal therapy with a nuero optometrist. On Tuesday, he will have an MRI and his first follow-up visit with his neurosurgeon team at Cook Children's Medical Center. We also met with the amazing staff Millsap High School to discuss his 504 plan for when he returns to school in August. He is going to stick with all honors and AP classes and work hard to maintain, and Hopefully improve, his class rank of #5! Thank you to everyone that has prayed for my sweet Jake! Please keep 'em coming!
