Saturday the 31st of Aug, Jake O'Brien was involved in a motorbike accident whilst riding with friends. The incident has left Jake with a significant spinal injury with a fractured T12 and crushed spinal cord. After a massive operation Jake had a metal vertebrae inserted to give him the best chance possible for the recovery and use of his legs.
The true extent of the long term effects is yet unknown. What is known is that it will be a extremely lengthy recovery.
With permission from the family, we are raising money to help Jake's long term healing and recovery costs. This may include medical expenses, equipment, treatments not covered by Medicare and unexpected bills etc.
The family in true O'Brien style have pledged that any money not used for Jake over his recovery will be gifted to the spinal cord ward at the Austin hospital.
The O'Brien family are well known for there kindness and generosity.
Whether it's $2 or $100 every dollar will help this beautiful family in getting their boy back on his feet.
