Jake’s Great Rescue Story!

Jake is joining our rescue! He desperately needs our help so we’re asking for your support with his training needs and neuter.

Jake is a one year old German Shepherd who isn’t quite sure how to be a “dog” yet.

Jake has been living with his family since a puppy. They acquired him when he was small and they did not realize he would grow into a large, powerful dog. Currently he lives in the backyard during the day and the basement at night. He is loved, just not in the way our culture is used to seeing. The family knows he needs more and have agreed to let us place him safely.

About Jake - he is exactly what you would expect of an adolescent male Shepherd with no training.

He is an adolescent alligator. Shepherds are known to be mouthy and Jake is no exception. He will need work to learn what is appropriate but he does not bite to hurt, he mouths out of playfulness. He is jumpy. He is happy. He is rude. He has no idea he’s big boy. He is handsome. He is sweet. He is intimidating when first meeting new people and settled down within a minute.

Jake is worth the time and training he needs. We can’t do it without your help and as of now he’s not “house ready” and we need to get him some basic manners in order to place him correctly.
