Jakob’s Indigenous Wanderers Soccer Tour
Donation protected
Meet my son Jakob James, a 14 year old proud Bundjalung boy from Cabbage Tree Island/Ballina Community.
Jakob absolutely loves and is so passionate about playing soccer which he has really been excelling in. Out of the whole of Australia along with several other young Aboriginal boys, Jakob was selected for the Indigenous Wanderers Soccer Team to travel to the United Kingdom and France at the end of this year to play 7 games and attend the stadium to watch a Premier League game.
Jakob departs Australia on Thursday 30 November 2023 returns home on Monday 18 December 2023.
As well as playing, Jakob will have the opportunity to sightsee throughout London and Paris including the ANZAC Battlefields in Paris.
However this all comes at a pricey cost which has been difficult for the whole family to cover. So far Jakob's family have been able to pay half of the mandatory expenses but still require support to cover the remaining amount of $5,000.
The mandatory expenses cover flights, accommodation, meals, uniform, other travel expenses and some of the sightseeing expenses all due by COB Saturday 30 September 2023.
This trip is life changing for Jakob, our family and Community as it is not so often that a young proud Aboriginal boy from our walk of life gets an opportunity like this at the bright age of 14. My family and I would so appreciate any amount of support that you could contribute to get Jakob to Europe so he can fulfil his dreams and do what he loves.
