Jambo Kenya 2025
Donation protected
My name is Annabelle Welsh and I am a year 9 student at OCA school in widnes. I am participating in an expedition to Kenya in July 2025.
This will be a 4 week expedition and will include community development work, environmental projects and wildlife conservation. It will also include additional elements such as trekking the Marungu hills, going on Safari and working with the Tumaini women’s group.
The core objectives of this expedition are to undertake projects in order to:
- Raise the educational standards of developing communities within a rural district of Kenya
- Assist with on going wildlife conservation programs to preserve biodiversity and protect vulnerable habitats
- Raise the living standards of developing communities, within a rural district of Kenya
This expedition is really important to me because I feel that I will acquire and develop many important life skills such as independence, leadership as well as team building with different cultures and traditions. I’m looking forward to working with the local children and the Tumaini woman’s group, embarking on Safari and contributing to environmental projects especially the costal clean up along the white beaches of the Indian Ocean promoting the importance to marine life and our planet. I think I will be challenged when trekking the Marungu Hills, with the climate difference and rugged terrain as it’s out of my comfort zone of what I am used to living in here in the UK.
I would be extremely great full for any contributions you can make towards my fundraising and journey to Kenya 2025.
Thank you in anticipation
Yours Sincerely,
Annabelle
