More information about Innocence Project, Inc.: The Innocence Project, which is affiliated with Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University, is a national litigation and public policy organization dedicated to exonerating wrongfully convicted people through DNA testing and reforming the U.S. criminal justice system to prevent future injustice. To date, more than 335 people nationwide have been exonerated through DNA testing and dozens of states have implemented critical reforms to prevent wrongful convictions.
I’m running (well, that may be a bit strong, given my pace) the New York marathon in November, and I am raising money for the Innocence Project. As an attorney by training, I am committed to the rule of law and the need for justice for all in America. The Innocence Project is an important part of bending the arc of the moral universe toward justice, and I am proud to support their work.
I have never run a marathon before. I have completed a few half marathons, and I find that running helps fill my soul and find good every day. Running the marathon to support a charity partner just seems fitting for me.
Thanks for reading. Your support will push me to cross the finish line in New York with a smile on my face. Well, I hope so. I’m not as young as I used to be…
