James and Kris Gillespie

Dear Friends and Family,

Many of you have been asking how you can help or donate so we are setting up a go fund me for James and Kris Gillespie.

On March 25th, 2024, my dad, James Gillespie was involved in a train accident. He drives truck for Cash-Wa Distributing out of Kearney. Early yesterday morning during the snow storm he was making his way up to Broken Bow and the semi he was driving got stuck on the tracks…we are not clear on all the details…but the cab of the semi was struck on the passenger side throwing my dad from the truck. He has sustained multiple fractures in his pelvis, a broken tibia that protruded through his shin, and fractured C6 vertebrae in his neck. He also had two brain bleeds. He was exposed to the elements for approximately 30 minutes before help arrived. I want to thank the train conductor from the bottom of my heart for sitting there with my dad until help got there. I don’t know you and I’m sure that was awful for you to go through..thank you for your kind heart. I hope to meet you one day. ❤️ My dad was going to be air flighted to Good Sam in Kearney but the storm was already bearing down. The ambulance had to take the roads. Thank you for risking your own lives to save my dad. You are all heroes and will always be. Upon arrival to the hospital my dad was taken to surgery. They had to address the brain bleeds and broken bones. He had a stent put in his brain to help with swelling. He also had a steel rod put in his leg. He is currently being sedated to allow the brain to rest. We have no idea what to expect or what is next for my dad. We need all your prayers and thoughts of healing for my dad. It is going to be a long road but we have faith and hope that he will pull through. He is strong. He is fierce. He’s my dad.
