James and Tanner Pope Recovery Fund
Donation protected
On December 8, 2020 Tanner and his father James came to the aid of a complete stranger in the midst of an attempted carjacking. Without hesitation, James used his truck to block in the vehicle from being stolen. The two then ran towards the ongoing situation to offer help. The carjacker was not working alone and his accomplices in another vehicle opened fire on Tanner and James, striking them both.
The two were taken to a local hospital and treated for injuries. The news articles named them as "Good Samaritans" but I would consider them guardian angels. Most would have stayed safely in their vehicles and waited for police to arrive, but without fear.. the Pope men ran into danger without second thought. I cannot thank them enough for their efforts and for their life saving bravery.
The goal of this campaign is to show gratitude for the selfless actions shown by both James and Tanner, and to help them with medical bills associated with this incident.
