James Burks Memorial for Education

This is a fund created by the children of James W. Burks to honor two of his life's passions: the education of children & the preservation of nature. In lieu of flowers, we would like to donate money to programs that offer education to children and the preservation of nature.

We will donate "The Papa Tree" to Warner Parks Nature Center and make a memorial donation to the YMCA of the Rockies, a beautiful facilty in his beloved Rocky Mountains that offers to further educate families and their children in the preservation of wildlife and nature.  We will also be donating to WAMY Community Action, Inc., a youth educational development program for children & families in disadvantaged circumstances in the Appalachian Mountains Region. This is a program where one of his granddaughters is employed.
