James Cook Hospital Snowdrop Suite

Hello, thank you for taking the time to look at our fundraiser. My name is Ashley Badger, I have a wonderful wife called Katie and gorgeous son called Arlo.

In August 2024 we were overjoyed to find out we were expecting our second baby, the final piece of our family. We told Arlo in September 2024 and he couldn't contain his excitement, he'd always wanted to be a big brother but by Halloween 2024 our world had come to a standstill.

During a routine appointment, Katie was scanned by our lovely consultant at James Cook and our little bundle of joy had sadly passed away from suspected slapped cheek virus. We had to tell Arlo his baby has gone to heaven and he'll never meet him but he'll always be with him.

On 2nd November myself and Katie went to the snowdrop suite at James cook hospital so Katie could give birth to our baby. Baby Beau Badger was born on 3rd November 2024 sleeping.

The snowdrop suite is private area in james cook for families to spend time with their children who have passed away. We spent precious time with our little boy and said goodbye to him in the privacy and safety of the snowdrop suite. From start to finish the staff at James cook treat us like family and made the worst time of our lives a little easier. We can never repay the kindness, professionalism and care shown to us by the staff at James cook but we can raise some money to donate to the snowdrop suite so families in our position can spend time with babies who have passed away.

There is about 30 of us walking from whitby to Saltburn on 29th March 2025 to raise funds for the Snowdrop Suite. Some of us will be in fancy dress and others wearing the hospital charities t shirts.
