James & Cristi’s Miracle
In April 2015 James & Cristi, after both going through heart wrenching divorces, had their first date and it was love at first sight. Two months later the day before they were to be married they found out that Cristi had breast cancer that had gone into her lymph nodes. Cristi told James this was his chance to run. He said no way and they were married the very next day joining their two families making 9 kids together.
Within the first 3 months of their marriage Cristi lost her beautiful blonde hair to Chemo and her breasts to a double mastectomy but their love carried through. Her oncologist gave her two years to live she is now on year 5, however in that 5 years the cancer has come back repeatedly and this last time it completely ravaged her back.
In January, James was admitted to the ER for a ten day stay because of a abscess on his liver and was sick with sepsis. This abscess nearly took his life. Cristi’s cancer over the years costed so much that they could not afford insurance for James. Because he did not have insurance they are having to pay for the entire hospital stay out of pocket leaving them in even more medical debt. Right after that, James lost the vitamin company of 35 years that his dad had created which had supported their large family and helped pay all the medical bills up to that point.
James then searched for a job and was hired at Vivint knocking doors. Cristi got hired with the census and worked in between receiving chemotherapy. They pressed forward even when both were physically ill doing jobs that put a lot of strain on them physically. Still not able to catch a break. Since May, they had a bathroom flood, their microwave, refrigerator, freezer, 2 water heaters, water pressure valve, boat motor, dryer and now their washer all go out. On top of all that, one of their two vehicles is going out.
With all the problems they hold together in love and keep positive. Cristi is now in the hospital from an invasive tumor removal. Their favorite sayings are, “Come What May and Love it. Live today like there is no tomorrow” and “With God all things are possible”. If you are looking to help someone who is hard working, but truly in need please consider donating to their
