James Cullina a 95-Year old man evicted from his care home

My Mother in-law called my wife and me telling us about James and how she saw him on the news and just instantly wanted to help him. We watched the clip from Global news and felt the same.

He is 95 year old man who has been evicted from his retirement home at Sunnyside Retirement home. He spent his life savings and when it ran out the evicted him and dropped him off at the Peace Arch hospital in White Rock B.C. James is currently living at the hospital.

James' friends have tried to find alternate housing for him but were told he didn’t qualify for long-term care.

James said he never imagined he would be 95 years old with nowhere to call home. Cullina said he wants his story told as he never wants this to happen to anyone else.

After losing his home of almost a decade, he said he is not excited about trying to find a new one.

“Where would I like to go next?” he said.

“To heaven. I’d like to go to heaven. Wherever that is.”
