James Edwards McAny Jr

Hi, my name is Rachel (Lucy’s sister) and I’m fundraising for James Edwards McAny Jr.

James has been fighting leukemia for a long time. He was diagnosed at 24 and underwent successful treatment, which put him into remission until 2014 where he completed a bone marrow transplant. Lucy and James committed their lives to each other just before his bone marrow transplant in the beautiful hills of Ananda Village. He again went into remission and lived life to the fullest. He found a love of golf on the golf course of Lake Wildwood. He built friendships with the local community who have been ever present throughout the past few months for both James and Lucy. He traveled with Lucy competing in golf tournaments, enjoying the scenic courses of Pebble Beach, Edgewood, and Half Moon Bay.

James and Lucy were able to enjoy a decade of life loving each other. In September, James went back to the hospital and doctors found that his cancer had come back. He fought for a hard 111 days at UC Davis, then made the difficult choice to go spend his last days at home with his wife, friends and family. He made every moment count at home, eating his favorite snacks, watching his favorite movies and roasting anyone who would sit down long enough. James was able to leave this earth and go to his final resting place being held by his loved ones.

Many of you are aware that Lucy has been caring for James for the past several months, which is why we are reaching out to all our friends and family in hopes to be able to fulfill James’ wishes for his funeral.
