James Franch

To all who are interested, my name is Rich Caniglia and I’m putting this fundraiser together to help my dear friend, my brother, James Franch. This is my 2nd fund raiser for James, the last was for his dentures which unfortunately were thrown away a couple weeks ago while he had an emergency stomach surgery for lack of blood flow to his intestines and stomach at the county hospital.

You see, James has experienced tremendous health crisis for the past decade. The fine state of Arizona and the heartless, incompetence of the staff at DES made a clerical error and cancelled his disability. After 7 years of fighting with an incompetent attorney as well as a shitty judge who kept pertinent information out of the appeal, James lost his case. It would be hard to find a more qualified candidate. James is 100% incapable of working something he takes tremendous pride in, he was once a terrific construction worker who loved working with his hands and skill set. James has had 2 knee replacement surgeries, major back surgery, and newly discovered complete deterioration of his hip which has caused serious lack of blood flow to major parts of his body. He is in a wheelchair and can not walk.

He is currently in a nursing care facility recovering from stomach surgery and unfortunately will be returned to the streets of Phoenix upon his release. This fundraiser is to help get him a studio apartment and help him get his thyroid in check to get a crucial hip replacement surgery. I truly believe if he’s tossed back to the streets, we will be burying a terrific, dedicated father of 13 year old Lilly & 9 year old Henry who he has fought hard to be a completely involved and loving presence. These are 2 young kids who will make a difference in this world and they need their father to remain in their lives.

I’ve taken on this heart filled task because I believe in the goodness and loving soul of my friend of over 42 years and I can not stand by and allow someone I care for erode and die in the streets of Phoenix.

The goal is stout but obtainable and the minuscule faith I have in society is enough to be optimistic. So, it doesn’t matter if you can give $5.00, please do and please pass this page on to others who may be able to help too. This is a beautiful man who needs our help.
