Hello,

My name is James Alan Hayes Sr. Recently, my Wife and I lost our beloved first born son to suicide. James was 17 years old, a month from reaching his 18th birthday. He was aspiring to be an Electrical Engineer like myself and run my company someday. He was a straight A student member of the National Society of High School Scholars. He loved singing and playing his Guitar. He also loved making knives and building guitars. James loved like no one I ever knew, was compassionate and caring like his mother, and just an all around joy to be in the presents of. He loved to dress in his cowboy boots and cowboys hat with a feather in it. He loved country western music, blues, and blue grass. The reason I started this go fund me account is because I want to continue his legacy and keep his memory alive. Over the last several years, we have all dealt with someone in our family that was struggling with mental health. In most cases it goes un-noticed, untreated and silent. What I would like to do is start a scholarship fund honoring my son, that helps young adults pursue a career in the mental health field. This scholarship will honor my sons legacy. I will personally match dollar for dollar whatever’s raised. As a Christian family, we know that James is in a better place and that brings us comfort. This is the most difficult loss our family has ever been through, but we will continue to pray for gods comfort and guidance. We have a community full of people supporting us through these rough times. I would greatly appreciate anything you could spare. Please don’t put yourself in a bind donating.
