James Keena and his family need your help
Donation protected
Hello, My name is Vicky. I’m a coworker/ neighbor to James Keena. He needs our help!
Thank you everyone in here. Thank you in advance. There is an MVO in Midwood EMS that needs our help. He’s been in Bellevue, for a few days now.
08/20/2023, Long time Midwood Employee MVO James Keena, was intubated in Bellevue Hospital secondary to seizure with pneumonia, blood in lungs. He can’t breathe on his own. The hospital is doing tests. He is missing work and this happend off duty. His step father having the burden of taking over his finances due to him not being at work. His daughters, not being able to get the finances, due to him being in the hospital, not being able to fend for himself.
Intubated, blood in his lungs, secondary to seizures and pneumonia he’s been having. His step father is my neighbor, he has been updating me about the situation. It hasn’t got better. He has had these seizures before, he was brought to St.Johns hospital, where they have done nothing for him…. Now it’s too late.
Thank god he got sent to Coney Island hospital, where they transferred him to Bellevue. I am writing this, for the sake of his daughters, who are 8 and 2 years old. He has been doing everything he can to be their father and getting them the things they need.. and because of his step father Kenny who has been by his side, calling the doctors for updates everyday and visiting him every second that he can.
Kenny has been my neighbor for a while and he’s a vet for the military and he just wants to live in peace with his parrots, he’s an old man. But he has to deal with James’s car being impounded (from the incident of him having a seizure) the police were very understanding about the situation, so they advised kenny that all the expenses would be paid for. But when Kenny got there he had to pay about 500 dollars to get the car out for it being in their lot and everything like that… He has to deal with all the other expenses of James. It’s just not right for him to take on this burden, it’s also not right for his two daughters to suffer because it’s unknown when Keena will be back on his feet again.
Everyone I have reached out to, that has known Keena or has worked with him, always had said wonderful things about him. He’s always made people laugh and always has had a big smile on his face no matter the day. He’s been doing doubles just to help out his daughters, which has also been stressful because of his seizures. He believes he needs to do everything and anything despite his medical condition, just to feed and clothe his daughters. Kenny has been very worn down about this situation and has been worried about what the outcome might be. So please, even if it’s just a dollar, help out a brother in need. Once again, thank you all, because if it wasn’t for everyone coming together to help someone, we would be nowhere in life. This means more than you can imagine. Thank you.
