Update.
The pastor in the village informed me it will take $3,600 to build a basic brick house in his village. I’ve sent $1,000 already to get him some food and start sourcing bricks. I would like to get the balance ($2,600) by the end of August.
As many of you know the twins brother is the only sibling not in America. He is now married with 2 kids and has been attending secondary school (high school) and just finished his finals. As a family we have been paying for his school, housing, living expenses etc so he and his family can have a better life.
During the spring Malawi was hit with a major cyclone destroyed many of the houses in the villages, as well as the majority of the food crops. This is led to much famine as food prices for things like cornmeal, have gone up by astronomical numbers.
When James returned to his village, he found that the house that he was living in, along with that of his grandmothers was destroyed by the typhoon. Adding to the struggles, obviously is a lack of food.
I just sent $1000 over to get him started with some some food and start building a small brick house. However, I know there are more needs that James has and his desire is to take care of his wife and children. James should be starting college in the fall and when he is done, he will be able to get a good job in Malawi and be self sufficient but until such a time he is going to need some help to be able to accomplish those goals.
Please prayerfully consider doing what you can to help James and his family.
