Medical Expenses for Jim McRoberts

In Mid November, our Dad got very sick and needed emergency surgery for a ruptured hernia which was further complicated by sepsis. After two surgeries and an 11 day coma, he woke up in the ICU. Anastasia, his daughter, was able to be there with him, despite COVID restrictions, and she made him promise to fight as hard as he could to get back to us. For the next 7 weeks he was in the ICU receiving life saving treatments and rehab care to try and get him in good enough shape to return to a normal life. Over this time Dad was able to make important progress that let him regain the ability to communicate and enough energy for us all to visit once. On January 5, we were able to meet with him in his ICU facility after he had made the decision to transfer to hospice. It's impossible to express how much this visit meant to all of us. We spoke with him about our plans for the future, reminisced about our favorite memories, and made all of our little inside jokes. Dad was peacefully called home to Heaven the next morning.
Due to the immense cost of his medical care, even with insurance, we have started this campaign to help our family shoulder the financial burden. Please donate any amount you feel comfortable with and share a good memory you have of Jim. If you weren't lucky enough to know him, please share a positive memory you have of a loved one who went out of their way to make you feel special, or a kind thing you have done for another person.
