James Rohr & Family Fire Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, all. Our dear friend and magical man of musical mystery, James Rohr, suffered a gut-wrenching fire Saturday night. Thankfully, no one in his family was hurt. However, the fire wiped out all of his musical gear save for what he had with him for the gig he was playing at the time. A lifetime's worth of collection and cultivation, from priceless vintage keyboards, one-off experimental instruments, home recording rig, all Blue Ribbons physical product, all hard drives of recordings, all wiped out in the blink of an eye. Adding insult to injury, nearly all of his family's memories in physical form were stored in that basement and went up in smoke, as well. Gone. These were the tools of a real craftsman, the lab of a mad scientist, and the storeroom of his heart and soul. Anyone who has even spent one minute with James knows that he is the most giving, funny, gifted, and hard-working person you will ever encounter. He is the most generous person I have ever known with both his musical gifts and emotional support. I don't have enough words to describe what a special person James is and the beautiful family he has created, but if you know you know. While insurance, inspections, assessments and the long road to house rehab begin, I would like to start this fund to get James' tools back in his hands and help ease the burden of this stressful time. He is starting from scratch. This is a man who has entertained thousands of people over the years, most often for no cover at all - his pure love for music, singular moments, and connection shining through every single time. Assuming you know James and his giving, beautiful spirit, then you know that a GoFundMe would make him uncomfortable and he would most likely refuse. However, I spoke with James, and given the gravity of such an event, he has given me the blessing to proceed. If you can, please give a little to the man who has given us so much. All funds go directly to James. Thank you.
