James " Tikey" Dewitt
Donation protected
Our family is reminded today how fragile life is. James "Tikey", as everyone knew him departed for vacation to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic on February 2nd, 2023 along with our cousin and a few of their friends. On February 6th they chartered a fishing boat to go deep sea fishing. We learned later that morning that the boat they chartered had capsized. Everyone on board was rescued with the exception of our Tikey. A search and rescue effort was made but conditions were poor. The search and rescue resumed this morning. We were informed today that his body was recovered from the waters.
Our hearts are broken. Tikey leaves behind 4 children Emily 17, Abby 14, Izzy 6 & Owen 5. Tikey was loved by all and cherished by his family & friends. Tikey was a commited & devoted father. He was a successful entrepreneur owning & operating Dewennes restaurant in Waubaushene & Dewitt contracting. Tikey was the glue that held his family together and will be missed by all.
Expenses to lay him to rest will be a burden to his family. Any funds raised will be distributed to the family in order to offset some of the burden. Any funds remaining in excess will be for Tikey's children and a trust will be initiated in their name.
Thank you in advance for any contributions made regardless of how big or small. Everything helps!
