James Woodford Sr

Thank you all for the birthday love and well wishes online and via text etc. Unfortunately the day started with some very scary and stressful news. James’ Mom was calling to let us know their plane had to make an emergency landing in France because his father had an epileptic seizure on the plane.

He is currently in a well equipped University hospital in France, however they have no luggage and Mama Woodford cannot stay at the hospital. Some may already know he had a brain tumor operation a couple years ago and he’s also battling lung cancer. He’s been in very good spirits but this is a huge set back. They are expecting he’ll have a few more seizures before they can get him stable. We have talked to him and his speech is very slow, he is hallucinating. He said the plane needed to land because he doesn’t feel well. We aren’t sure he understands what all has taken place at this point.

We’ve found a nearby hotel where his Mom is able to taxi to and from. The room we booked is covering breakfast and dinner. The hospital will not allow her to stay with him. They also don’t know how long until he’s stable enough to be transported to Germany. Transporting to Germany will be extremely extensive and not a quick process. Their luggage is in Germany and while they are already extreme minimalists, they currently have even less. No clothes, meds were packed in the luggage, unable to reach the doctors in Germany to see what he was on, it’s a mess.

Never thought this would be a post we would make, but here we are. Any assistance you are able to provide would be amazing. We have an account here in the US that they are both on and they will be receiving 100% of the funds. She has a debit card and I am also able to wire into their German bank. So far the debit card is working but they didn’t travel with our credit card. We are scared for the next steps and aren’t quite sure how we are going to get them their luggage or back home at the moment. I’m sure flying is out of the question for the near future.
